Story Synopsis & Significance
The narrative serves as the direct prelude to the famous Apocalypse: The Twelve saga. The story begins with a shockwave: Professor Charles Xavier has grown erratic, harsh, and defensive. Believing there is an active traitor or an alien Skrull infiltrator inside the mansion, Xavier shockingly disbands the X-Men entirely, fracturing the team.
As the broken heroes scatter across the globe to cope with the exile:
• The Mannites: Cyclops and Jean Grey are forced to independently gather a strike team to protect a group of highly evolved, super-powered children known as the Mannites.
• The Arrival of Death: The team faces the ultimate threat of Apocalypse’s newest, most ruthless Horseman: Death. In a brutal battle, this enigmatic executioner defeats the fractured mutants and changes Wolverine's life forever in a staggering twist ending
